My major is graphic design and I chose the current advertisements for the 2009 Grammy Awards to analyze. The design is simple yet complicated. The imagery and text are minimal but there are a lot of elements. This design uses the bottom-up techniques successfully because you read the important information first of 'what' and 'where'. Also, the size is different for the event title and date to show importance. Color is also used in that the yellow is contrasting to the start of the image making it pop. Lastly, the direction of the text making up the artist Thom Yorkes face leads your eye in a circular motion reading what artists will be involved in the show. Also, The text size ads depth to the created image.
